Eco School
What can you do to make your school more environmentally friendly?
Here's some ideas:
- Plants in classrooms
- Reuse tyres to plant flowers in
- Collect compostable food items to go into compost heap
- Recycling boxes in classrooms for paper
- Create log piles/let grass grow longer in some areas to encourage wildlife
- Create posters to remind pupils/adults to turn off taps/lights etc. (run a competition)
- Send newsletters/dates via email instead of paper copies (parents can opt in)
- Recycle print cartridges and collect money at the same time
- Launch own school gardening club
- Reset monitors/computers to go to standby after a set time
- Turn Interactive Whiteboards off when not needed and do not leave on standby over weekends/holidays
