Beta Programme
Here at Sarsen Education, we believe that to create truly exceptional software for the UK market you need input from on-the-ground active teachers throughout the design and development process.
Our unique “hands-on” approach means we can build high quality teaching resources based on the feedback we receive during development, not after the release. In short this means, with beta programme members’ help we can design high quality, intuitive applications that avoid annoyances seen with other vendors.
What we ask of beta programme members
In our beta programme, members are asked to review and provide simple feedback on one or more of our current in-development software packages. Our development review cycle requires external checks at three major stages during product development:
The three stages in detail:
Storyboard Design: This stage is held towards the end of the visionary process. Normally only sketches and drawings will be available along with a “Vision Document” which outlines the product scope and objectives.
Working Prototype: This stage is held once a complete product sample is ready. Only partial functionality and content will be included, some graphical design will still be in the “wireframe” stage.
Dress Rehearsal: This stage comes very close to the end of development when a full application is almost ready for the testing phase (Quality Assurance). This is the last chance for beta testers to influence the design of the product.
Each programme member is sent, via email, the latest work in progress to review along with simple instructions and a covering letter. Once reviewed, members are asked to fill in an online survey and optionally provide further comments as they see fit. For helping shape Sarsen Education’s products, all participating members are entitled to a free site licence of the reviewed product as soon as it’s released for sale.
Sarsen Education is actively searching for more teachers and teaching assistants who are willing to help influence the design of our future products. If you or your school are interested in becoming a member of the programme please don’t hesitate to contact us for the pre-qualification questionnaire.
It is also worth noting that our product development cycles are only six months, this means that lesson plans could be created so that your entire class can actively participate in the development of real-world educational software products. Your students will see the development of a product from vision to reality, including some of their ideas all within one school year.
Help change educational software forever.
