Mathematical Word Problems revolves around seven central locations set in a fictional solar system not too far from our own. Sarsens, the characters that inhabit this world, have many traits similar to their Earth-bound counterparts. The locations used mimic those pupils would find in real world situations, locations like leisure centres, cinemas and bakeries. Teachers are in complete control of the type of questions asked, including topics like length, weight and data handling. It is also possible to choose the complexity of the question and which operations are required to solve the word problems. Interactive Worksheet
Once a word problem has been generated, pupils are invited to use the teacher-designed onscreen interactive worksheet to solve the question. The worksheet has been designed as a three stage process. Firstly, the problem is shown and the pupil is asked to circle the major factors that make up the equation. Secondly the pupil is required to highlight the operations they will use to solve the problem. Finally, pupils are required to use efficient written methods to break down and solve each part of the problem before finding the answer.
